1. Care. The main condition of acceptance of any booking is that good care is taken of any of the properties and contents and that the place is left truly clean and tidy, as you will find it.This care to include all utensils, crockery, etc.

2. Holidays. To give us as much time as possible to prepare your Lodge, holidays start from 3.30 p.m. on the day of arrival until 10.30 a.m. on the day of departure.

3. In the interest of site management the proprietors reserve the ultimate right to allocate lodges.

4. A deposit of 50% of the rental is payable to confirm your booking, up to a minimum of £75 total.

The balance of rental is payable one month before the holiday.

5. Where bookings are made less than one month before arrival, the full amount of rental is payable when booking.

6. Occupancy. Each property is offered for rent only on the understanding that no more than the maximum number of people as indicated in the brochure shall use it, except by prior agreement. We cannot be liable for any loss, damage, sickness or injury howsoever caused which may be sustained during the holiday to the Tenant and any member of the party, or any invited person.

Prices quoted are for 5 Berth lodges. There is a supplement payable for the use of the double wall-bed in our 6 Berth lodges.

7. Pets. A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed in certain Lodges. An extra charge of £16.00 per dog per week will be made.

8. Cancellation Insurance protects against liability to pay the full rental, and costs only £10.00 per week (irrespective of numbers in a lodge), and applies as follows:

Covers against:

i. Death, illness, quarantine, bodily injury to the wife, husband, parents-in-law, child, sister, brother or close business associate of Insured Persons.

ii. Death, illness, quarantine, bodily injury or unemployment of the Insured Persons.

iii. Being summoned for jury service.

iv. The above clauses apply provided that all insured persons are in good health, physically and mentally, at the time of booking, and that the age of the insured persons does not exceed 75 years at the start of the holiday.

v. Claims arising from winter sports, mountaineering, sports, tours, motor competitions, pregnancy and childbirth and recurring chronic or continuing illness, disability or condition of the Insured Persons for which medical treatment or consultation has taken place during the 12 months prior to the date of booking the holiday, are expressly excluded.

vi. Any claim must be supported by medical evidence from a duly qualified medical practitioner, and must be immediately reported to us in writing.

If the reason for cancellation is not covered by the terms above, the rental is payable in full. We will do our best to re-let and, if successful, would normally return the balance less a handling charge.

The deposit would not be refunded in such circumstances.

9. Cancellation by Hartsop Fold. If in the unlikely event that your accomodation becomes unavailable for whatever reason, then we at Hartsop Fold will inform you of this as soon as possible and endeavor to find alternative accommodation for you. No guarantee can be given of this. If you choose to cancel, all monies will be refunded to you.

10. Electricity is charged extra at our current electricity suppliers rate. We wish to point out that there are no coin meters and the rate charged does not carry any surcharges over and above the standard domestic tariff.

11. Equipment. Each Lodge is equipped with sufficient crockery, cutlery, kitchen equipment, dining and easy chairs, beds and bedding for the maximum number of people as indicated.

12. Cots can be hired, in advance at an extra charge of £5.00

13. Parkng. If you plan to bring more than one car, please advise. No caravans.

14. Luggage is at owner's risk at all times, as is any car and its contents.

15. VAT is included in all quoted prices.

16. If there should be any cause for complaint or accidental damage this must be reported to us immediately, otherwise we are unable to investigate the matter fully. It is too late to report the matter after the holiday.

17. Hartsop Fold, its agents or servants cannot accept liability for any personal injury or death, damage or loss which may be sustained by the applicant or their property during the period of their stay at Hartsop Fold, except through negligence of the site, its agents or servants.

18. Smoking. We request that customers refrain from smoking inside the Lodges.

19.Fireworks. Out of consideration for livestock at Hartsop we request no fireworks please.
